Pre-Budget Report
![]() |
Our review of the key tax points in Alistair Darling’s Pre-Budget Report presented on 9 December 2009. Many of the key changes will start to have an impact in the tax year 2011/12, but there are several announcements that will have a much more immediate effect. Bankers will not welcome either the bank payroll tax or the further restrictions on pension contribution tax relief. Indeed anyone with an income of at least £130,000 may now be affected by the revised anti-forestalling rules. And there have been many other changes. These and the other tax increases already announced will make tax planning even more important – especially in the remaining few months of this tax year. If any of the areas discussed seem likely to have an impact on your personal or business planning, we would urge you to contact us so that we can help. |
